Ijeoma is a young and charming Nigerian woman who works as a hairdresser in the poor and undeveloped Edo State. She is ambitious and dreams, just like thousands of other young women around the world, of a better life. When Ijeoma meets Diana, a customer who seeks last minute hair care and offers her a much better paid job abroad, her dream of one day owning her own salon, seems more attainable than ever. Excited about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Ijeoma packs her bags and heads to Europe with Diana.
Arriving in Italy, everything seems perfect at first, but when Ijeoma gets ready to meet her new employer, things take an unexpected turn. Completely blindsided, Ijeoma is handed over to some Italian men who force her into a shabby van. Ending up captive in a filthy, concrete room, Ijeoma slowly realizes the tragic truth that she has become a victim of human sex trafficking. After being raped by one of the employees, Ijeoma is forced to engage in lewd sex acts with up to twenty men a day. In the meantime, and unbeknownst by Ijeoma, her aunt and uncle have sold their house in Nigeria and hired a private investigator, Mr. Benga, who tries to penetrate the underworld of human sex trafficking in Italy.
When her captors discover that Ijeoma is pregnant, they haul her off to a baby factory where she gives birth to a baby girl that is destined to be sold in exchange for her freedom. But a few days later, Ijeoma’s dream of finally being free, turns into a nightmare as her captors force her back into prostitution. Working the streets again, Ijeoma gets into a car of a client who turns out to be investigator Benga. Benga offers to take her back home, but Ijeoma is torn by the thought of leaving all the other abused girls behind, and opts to go back with a tracking device from Benga that she swallows. That same night, just when Ijeoma looks down the barrel of a gun, all hell breaks loose as an explosion is heard and a dozen swat members storm the underground facility.
