When JAKE (20s) realizes that his girlfriend, ALEXANDRA suffers from severe bipolar disorder, he tries to manipulate her into a joint counseling session with a psychologist who happens to be his own father. Alexandra refuses to go, but feels increasingly responsible for Jake’s unhappiness and sets him ‘free’ by committing suicide in bed next to him. Overwhelmed by this traumatic experience, Jake represses his feelings and goes on to live an emotionally secluded life as an aspiring screenwriter. Nobody, neither his absent-minded roommate, madman MARCUS, nor Jake’s father are able to penetrate the solid wall Jake has built around his soul. Jake has vowed to never fall in love again, unless he’s absolutely convinced, beyond any reasonable doubt, that he has found his authentic “Twin Flame Soulmate.”
Jake’s monastic existence is turned upside down when he runs into the charismatic NATASHA who is an up-and-coming rock singer and is also on the search for true love. As the two become friends and start spending time together, love blossoms and it becomes evident to everybody but Jake, that they’re destined to be together forever. When Natasha declares her love, Jake naturally draws back and dismisses any deep connection, not realizing that his own fear prevents him from recognizing ‘the one’ who stands right in front of him. It’s only when Jake is confronted head-on by his father and manipulated into a cathartic skydiving experience, that he’s finally able to slay the dragons of fear from his past. Feeling purified, emotionally, spiritually and psychologically, Jake goes all out and plans to propose to Natasha the very next day.
But Natasha, on the way to Jake’s surprise-proposal, gets into a violent car accident that leaves her in a coma. After all attempts to awaken her fail, the parents take Natasha home to let her live out her life in privacy. In a moment of great despair, Jake remembers a dream Natasha once had when she stayed over and realizes that this could be the last and only chance to bring her back to consciousness. With the help of madman Marcus, Jake kidnaps Natasha and brings her to a church where he recreates the atmosphere of her dream. As Natasha’s deepest senses are tantalized, she slowly gains consciousness and indeed awakens from her coma. – Two Twin Flames finally become One.
